About Steppr
Documentation shouldn’t need a cloud or a subscription
Steppr is an independent Mac app with one job: turn something you do once into a guide anyone can follow.
Why Steppr exists
Every team has the same problem. Someone knows how to do a task, everyone else keeps asking, and the documentation never gets written because writing it takes ten times longer than doing it. Taking screenshots, cropping them, pasting them into a document and describing every click is slow, boring work.
Tools that automate this exist, but most of them are browser extensions that upload your screens to their cloud and charge every person on your team every month. For a lot of people, that’s a hard sell: the price adds up, the recordings show internal systems, and the work often happens outside the browser anyway.
Steppr takes a different approach. It’s a native Mac app that does all the work on your computer. You press a shortcut, do the task the way you always do, talk it through if you like, and Steppr builds the guide while you work: numbered steps named after the real buttons and fields, a screenshot for each one, and your narration turned into text.
