User manual software

Create user manuals without the screenshot busywork

A good user manual is mostly screenshots and short, precise steps, and it is exactly the part that takes longest by hand. Steppr captures both while you use the product, so you can focus on what to explain.

What goes into each manual page

Build a manual chapter by chapter

  1. Start recording. Press ⌥⇧⌘R or choose New recording from the Steppr icon in your menu bar. It works with any app on your Mac.
  2. Do the task once. Click, type and talk it through the way you normally would. Each click, keystroke and shortcut becomes a named step, using the real button and field names.
  3. Polish and share. Add highlights, boxes, arrows or text, reorder steps, then export a PDF, one PNG per step, or an MP4 video.

Export the way your readers want it

Export each chapter as a PDF for print or download, PNG images to drop into your docs site, or an MP4 for your help center. Word, PowerPoint, HTML and Markdown export are on the way.

Can I add my own images?
