IT and help desk documentation

Turn every IT fix into a guide your users can follow

Password resets, printer setup, VPN connection, Wi-Fi profiles: help desks answer the same tickets again and again. Record the fix once with Steppr and send a guide next time, with screenshots of exactly where to click.

Why IT teams like it

Your storage, your email, your rules

Steppr has no cloud of its own, so there is no new vendor holding your documentation. Team guides are saved to your company’s own Google Drive today, with OneDrive, Box and iCloud Drive coming soon. Guides and invitations are emailed from your own account.

That means your existing sharing permissions, retention policies and backups apply automatically, and there’s one less vendor to review for where your documentation is stored.

How it works

  1. Start recording. Press ⌥⇧⌘R or choose New recording from the Steppr icon in your menu bar. It works with any app on your Mac.
  2. Do the task once. Click, type and talk it through the way you normally would. Each click, keystroke and shortcut becomes a named step, using the real button and field names.
  3. Polish and share. Add highlights, boxes, arrows or text, reorder steps, then export a PDF, one PNG per step, or an MP4 video.
