Terms and Conditions

These terms explain how you may use Steppr and what you get when you buy a license. Please read them before downloading or buying.

Effective

1. Agreement

These Terms are an agreement between you and [Your full legal name] (“Steppr”, “we”, “us”), who operates the Steppr app and getsteppr.app. By downloading, installing or using Steppr, you agree to these Terms. If you use Steppr on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for it, and “you” includes that organisation.

2. Free trial

You can try Steppr free with every feature for 14 days (individual) or 28 days (team). After the trial you can keep recording and editing guides; exporting and pinning guides require a paid license.

3. Licenses

When you buy a license, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use the version of Steppr you bought, subject to these Terms:

A license is not a subscription and does not renew. [Confirm your update policy, e.g. “It includes all updates to version 1.x” or “It includes all future updates”.]

4. Purchases and payment

Purchases are processed by [Paddle / Lemon Squeezy], which acts as the merchant of record and reseller of Steppr. Its terms of sale also apply to your purchase. Prices are shown in US dollars and exclude VAT and sales tax, which are added at checkout where applicable. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

You are responsible for what you record. Screens can contain confidential or personal information about you and others; make sure you have the right to capture and share it.

6. Your content

You own your recordings, screenshots, guides and everything else you create with Steppr. We don’t claim any rights to it, and because it is processed on your Mac, we don’t have access to it. You are responsible for keeping your own backups.

7. Third-party integrations

Steppr can connect to services you choose, such as Google Drive. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or changes they make that affect an integration.

8. Our intellectual property

Steppr, its software, design, name and logo are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms don’t give you any rights to them except the license described above. Other product names mentioned on our website belong to their respective owners.

9. Updates and support

We may release updates that add, change or remove features. We provide support by email at support@steppr.app on a reasonable-efforts basis.

10. Disclaimer

Steppr is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not guarantee that Steppr will be error-free or uninterrupted. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or business. Our total liability for any claim relating to Steppr is limited to the amount you paid for your license. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Termination

Your license ends automatically if you materially breach these Terms. When it ends, you must stop using Steppr. Sections 6, 8, 10, 11 and 14 continue to apply.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We’ll change the effective date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we’ll notify customers by email. Changes don’t affect licenses already purchased in a way that reduces your rights.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Country / State]. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in your local courts.
