Why your own storage is better
- Your rules apply. Guides follow your company’s existing sharing permissions, retention policies and backups.
- Easier security reviews. There’s one less vendor holding your documentation.
- No lock-in. Your guides stay in your own storage, whether or not you keep using Steppr.
- Trusted email. Guides and invitations come from your own address, not a no-reply sender.
- A lower price. With no cloud to run, Steppr costs $9.99 once, or $199.99 once for your whole team.
Frequently asked questions
Why doesn’t Steppr have its own cloud?
Because you already have one. Keeping guides in your own storage means your company’s sharing, retention and backup rules apply, there’s one less vendor holding your documentation, and we don’t need to charge you a monthly fee for hosting.
Where are integration sign-ins stored?
In your Mac’s Keychain. Steppr never stores or receives your sign-in tokens.
Do I have to connect anything?
No. Integrations are optional. You can record, edit and export guides on your Mac without connecting storage or email.
Can I connect later?
Yes. Skip the step during setup and connect any time from Integrations in the toolbar, or Settings › Integrations.
